An Azure Resource Provider is a service in Azure that supplies a set of related resources and operations. Think of it as a collection of capabilities that Azure exposes through the ARM (Azure Resource Manager) API.

For some subscription types (e.g. trial, Microsoft Demo Experience (MDX), etc) even some core Resource Providers, like Microsoft.Network, may not be registered.
